The book is targeted at professionals who are experienced with optimization and dimensioning of 2/3/4 G cellular networks. The book will be of much use both to wireless design and optimization engineers and to engineers responsible for planning and designing transmission networks. Additionally, the book should also be available for managers on the higher and average levels. The book will help them understand how essential for cellular networks their optimal dimensioning and traffic management are. This knowledge, properly applied, will help operators reduce the costs of the operation of the network as a whole and gain competition advantage.

The course book includes descriptions of fundamental technological issues in 2/3 G networks, basic traffic engineering models and frequent examples of the application of analytical models in the analysis and dimensioning of the interface of cellular networks. The specific knowledge included in the content of the subject will make it possible for its reader to understand and then to prepare appropriate programming softwares that will allow him to evaluate quality parameters of cellular networks, i.e. blocking probabilities or call losses. The book is of unique character as regards to the scope of discussed problems and, particularly, as regards to the applicative character of the proposed analytical models.
